A few weeks have passed since the release of WoW Patch 9.1. Many players are revisiting the current raid Sanctum of Domination and Mythic+ dungeons over and over again, and/or are just finishing up the final chapter of the Pact campaign. But how long is this going to keep us happy? Can we expect another content drought in the coming months, as was the case prior to the release of Patch 9.1? Some fans fear just that. But the finding of some dataminers gives hope.
That's because Wowhead's editors report a file contained in the interface folder of the wowz Burning Crusade build 126.96.36.199757. The file contains the hint that certain addon features are deprecated with patch 9.1.5 and will be removed with the next expansion:
"These are functions that were deprecated in 9.1.5, and will be removed in the next expansion.
Please upgrade to the updated APIs as soon as possible.
While this very first reference to patch 9.1.5 in the WoW (Buy Now €14.99 )files doesn't include a concrete release date or hints of upcoming content, it's still coming much sooner than expected. Some fans assume that the test phase for the update on the PTR could still start in August 2021.
It's conceivable that the developers could reveal the first details about patch 9.1.5 or start the testing phase in connection with Gamescom 2021 in a few weeks - even though Blizzard will probably not officially attend the game fair. Meanwhile, the community is eagerly discussing what content Patch 9.1.5 might have on board. Some are hoping for a return of the Battle Guild, time travel for WoW: Legion, or new Tradition armor sets. Others want an option to skip the intro quest for the Maw.
Even though we don't yet know exactly what content Patch 9.1.5 will bring, we want to know from you: What new features do you think the developers will introduce with the next update? Write us your opinion in the comments!
